    Tropic Thunder

A surprisingly funny comedy. Robert Downey Jr is terrific, but the real highlight is Tom Cruise, who's absolutely hilarious. Who'd have thought it!?

It's mostly a mediocre affair, but the actors make that film (quite literally) - especially Downey.

Excellent classic gothic horror! Shame Lee didn't get more dialogue.

    [REC] 2

Just came back of watching it at the Sitges Film Festival. Probably the smartest and most original way to make a sequel. Keeping the mood of horror of the first one but adding A LOT of action, buckets of blood,(very)black humour, a twist in the story and guest appearances of old friends from [REC].

Two hours after the events of the first film, same building, a three-member SWAT team. As directors Balagueró & Plaza have said in the presentation, after [REC] they didn´t want the party to stop. And what a party.

The bit where Stiller throws the kid off the bridge literally had me in stitches for about a week. Such a funny image.

You're little review intruiges me. The idea behind a original sequel to a film that didn't need one in the first place could be an interesting one. I'll have to watch it sometime, Thomas you with me?

    GOLDENEYE

This is good James Bond film. As i said earlier that i am not huge fan of James Bond films, but this one quite exceptional. Though the movie is good i find score is AWFUL. Score doesn't fit the movie. Because of the score, film looks very ordinary to me. Disappointment from Eric Serra!

INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE

This is excellent action fantasy adventure film. The chemistry between Connery and Ford as father and son was really superb. Hmm.. i don't have to tell anything about score. YOU-KNOW-VERY-WELL.

    EPIC MOVIE

After long time, i watched AWFUL and DISGUSTING film of all time. None of the scenes made me laugh. All are just irritating and annoying. In fact, i deeply regret myself for wasting my time and energy for this bullshit movie.

  2. "Stargate: Universe" (2 hour pilot)

I decided to catch the pilot anyway, but mostly just ot hear Joel Goldsmith's score.

    SPOILERS:

Honestly? This is as bad as some many of the episodes of "Dollhouse".

The shifting between current events and events after they happened, didn't bother me, what bothered me was: it was [U]unecessary[/U]. It seemed to be nothing more than an attept to make it different from previous SG and make it seem more involved than it really is.

Most of the acting was standard, with a few of what appear to be lead characters, is acting sub par. No one here could ACT worth a toot (why is this becoming more & more prevelent in new shows? It's infuriating). Only Dr. Rush is acting approaches anything good, and so far only his character -- to me -- seems to be of any deeper interest. He's obviously hiding something, and I don't think it's all of best intentions.

The attack on the base? Could it be anymore "Firefly" battle-like based? Its so blatantly obvious. As is their attempt to create an emotional environment and feeling of alone that "Firefly" did. Only thingsm issing are the wester, Chinese elements, and "gorram". But unlike "Firefly", SG:U failed to capture the emotions. Daughter crying out in pain as her dad sacrifices his life? Lousy acting, tears that were not belivable at all. Emotional ride from getting pulled from everything you know and being slowly poisoned to death by your own air supply? Felt not a goddamn thing. They're trying & trying, but it just all falls FLAT. They even try to inject a handful of times some Whedon-esque humor, which works one time, but the others is nothing more thn a smirk; hire some writers from "Firefly" and I think the meotion and humor will improve dramatically.

And the Eli character? A young Joss Whedon. :p

This is the premise of Voyager, with ideas of "firefly", and then some Battlestar elements mixed in, all the while trying to keep is a SG series.

In my opinion, nothing here is working. Everything is butting heads and the emotion needed, isn't coming out, nor the actors/acrtresses to pull it off.

Joel's score? I hate to say it, but I am disappointed. It's a mixture of -- again -- the "Firefly" quite moments outside the ship, only in SG:U it's got not western feel and the leads string instrument sounds electronic; and the percussion like pieces for drama on the new BSG. I was hoping for something unique in the scores, but like the series itself, looks like Joel couldn't do that either. I hold out hopes the series is opening theme (look forward to that next Friday) is good.

And finally, this fucking shakey cam approach is fucking annoying. I'll give the show two more episodes, but no more than that; I'm not going to waste time like I did with "Dollhouse".

    Wall Street

A very good film. Don't think I had ever seen it before. The two main characters are fantastic. Even though Stone exaggerates a few things a bit too much (who'd have seen that coming!?) it's fascinating to watch, especially as someone involved in financial services and seeing some of the decisions that are made at a high level. Stewart Copeland's silly score is very much a product of its time, but then again, so is the whole thing, so I don't suppose that's a problem really. I guess Goldsmith's rejected score was probably one of his all-synth affairs, so we're not missing much. (Wasn't it this film that he first tried to use what eventually became his Russia House theme?)

No, not really, those there are some elements that it assumes you already know. Here's basically all you got to know to watch -- but I dont' recommend "Universe" (but the first few seasons of SG1, are):

A race of old aliens known as The Ancients, created Stargate -- large upright circles that have cymbol that corrospond to stars, so you can dial a stargate on another world, and go there through hte wormhole the gate creates.

The U.S. has the Earth Stargate, and it's kept secret from the public.

I think that's all you really need to know.

  5. 17 Again

Typical story of getting a second chance and going back when you were ...
However Zac Efro is good, the humor is occasionally funny and there are a couple of twists that I liked. Plus, the score of Kent is surprisingly good too in parts

    7 out of 10

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Absolutely terrific film about 2 drag queens and a transexual, Terrence Stamp is goddamn terrific and there's lots of humour, songs and performances I absolutely adored. The costumes are downright brilliant and the taglines are insanely as hell

    The wresltler

    Mmmm..Like I thought. A very predictible movie.

I don't think this movie is better than Rocky Balboa, in fact it's worst. Some narrative licences (like one flashback) are out of place, the character is not well devoloped ( You never can't feel never he is real looser.) and Mickey Rourke is just Ok.
